Greetings Friends,

October was full on autumn core at Casa Tarr, including a leaf peeping road trip to visit with friends in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. In Bretton Woods, NH, we toured the historic Mount Washington Hotel, site of the establishment of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank. More on that in this month's History With Hope Substack.

On November 1st, I ran the Ocean City Maryland half-marathon with my elementary school bestie. I finished at 2:19:18, in the top 30 percent of women runners -- not too shabby! A gorgeous fall day, a dear friend to run with (and more often run behind), and two devoted hubs cheering us on -- #winning !

Further to winning, congratulations to Marilyn Berkman, the winner of my October book giveaway: AMERICA'S MOST GOTHIC: HAUNTED HISTORY STRANGER THAN FICTION by Leanna Renee Hieber and Andrea Janes. Marilyn, reach out with your deets, and I'll get the book out to you asap.

Everyone else, I have more fun plans for the winter holidays, including another giveaway: one signed copy of The Versailles Formula by prolific historical fiction author Nancy Bilyeau. Contest details TBA, so stay tuned by subscribing to this monthly author newsletter and/or my History With Hope Substack. Both are free.
